Questions About Onboard Services
1.  What onboard services and items are available for purchase?
2.  How do I pay for onboard purchases and services?
3.  What about cash, checks, and foreign currency?

Answers About Onboard Services
1.  Most cruise ships have world class spas and beauty salons from which you may acquire a variety of services, from manicures to massages.  Modern cruise liners also have a variety of shops on board from which you may purchase jewelry, collectibles, clothing, photographs and photography supplies, various sundries, adult beverages, and many more items.

2.  For your convenience, most cruise lines use a card system similar to the way a credit card works.  This system allows you to charge all onboard purchases and services simply by presenting your card that is issued to you upon boarding.  The card is used for all expenditures except for those few that require cash:  gratuities, (other than bar and wine service), casino activities and foreign currency exchange.

On the last morning of your cruise, an itemized statement of your account will be delivered to your stateroom for verification.  Upon your approval, your card balance will be billed automatically to your credit card account (Visa, MC, DC, AMEX, etc.), thus simplifying and expediting your departure.

3.  Personal checks are not accepted for purchases aboard the ship.  Most cruise lines allow guests with a US bank account to cash one personal check at the Purser's Desk for up to $200 per cruise.  (This varies from cruise line to cruise line.)  Traveler's checks may also be cashed at the Purser's Desk.
